On the English website, we are asked to tell everyone if we have any pet peeves about language! I think that everyone texts so much that it is a huge form of communication, and one thing that really bothers me is when people mix up the words "there" and "their." Another funny language thing that I have noticed from one of my friends is that she substitutes the word "whenever" in place of "when"
all the time, every time. It does not necessarily bother me but it is really noticeable, and she is from Pittsburgh so maybe it has something to do with slang!
"There" & "Their" mistakes drive me nuts. Of course people use both to mean "they're" all the time too.
ReplyDeleteomg I hate those too, but for some reason I always think I get them wrong when I write a paper but they turn out to be right, i know wierd.lol
